What to do?

My love of design versus my love of dogs and how do you combine the two?

Charly Blair is my way of bringing my two loves’ together, and oh what a joy it is. I still think I am the luckiest person on earth to do what I truly love and have great passion for as I wake up each day excited to get to my studio, usually while still in my pyjama’s  with the sun barely peeking out. My brain seems to have nonstop creative energy and often times I wake up at 3 am as another FABULOUS, can’t wait till morning design idea strikes me.

I have been an animal lover my whole life, and can't remember a time growing up that I didn't have a dog at my side or was up at the barn riding my horse and mucking out stalls. Combined with my love of animals and all things horsey or doggy, I also had a constant (some say obsessive) need to create things of beauty. I loved fashion, make-up, Interior Design, anything sparkly or silver. I was a tom boy/girly girl (figure that one out lol)

7 years ago I began a company called www.aroundthehounds.com , we specialize at making beautiful, stylish martingale collars for sighthounds. This company evolved from my interest in the plight of the racing Greyhound and my desire to help fund raise for Greyhound Adoption Groups…..Wow, has it been that long? 

What a journey and oh how we have grown. I now have several employee’s and one adorable life/business partner to help me manage all the production/business admin/marketing/ website/ zoodles of other details of my business…So I can get back to what I do best, design/create beautiful things :-)

Swirling around in my brain the last several years was an idea to take my love of design and all things girly and make gorgeous one of a kind jewelry (I have a thing for neck’s im sure lol) both dog inspired pieces and also pieces inspired from fashion (vintage and current style) using all the fabrics, silver, swarovski crystals, semi precious stones and vintage pieces I love.

Everything miraculously has fallen into place this year, the sun, the moon and the stars all aligned to make it possible…..And away we go!!!!

Oh yes, one other thing I should mention…I am a bit of a perfectionist/hyper focused on details kind gal when it comes to making my product. I want every collar or jewelry piece that leaves my shop to be perfect, gorgeous, durable, functional, wearable, something that you will absolutely adore and become one of your as ’Oprah’ would say “ FAVORITE THINGS”
