Description 

This is the pendant that started it all, the very first release in my STARFISH COLLECTION featuring the artwork of kellie Oliphant burns of www.doodledogpaintings.com  'STARLOVE' was first introduced in oct 08 at the Greyhounds Reach the Beach event in Dewey Beach De and was an instant hit and quickly sold out of it's first run. Due to it's popularity I have continued to use it in my One of a Kind Designs and LOVE the way it works in this creation!

The Pendant : For the GREYLOVE pendant, I first tumbled, oxidized, sanded and finally hand polished, to give it a uniquely aged look and make the greyhound image pop. The pendant measures 30mm x 10 mm from the top of the very unique curlique attatchment to it's bottom and has a 2mm depth.

Above the pendant swing a little sterling starfish within a 20mm hammered sterling circle and above that hangs a gorgeous, rare, ocean colored Larimar stone which was bezel set in sterling silver.

The Chain: I used an elegant 18" 7mm large link sterling chain which I think perfectly compliments the scale and style of the pendant dangle

WHAT IS THE GREYHOUND STARFISH CONNECTION?

Those familiar with greyhound adoption may also be aware of the starfish poem and how it relates to the mindset of those who adopt these elegant, gorgeous, deserving, hounds.
My inspiration for these jewelry pieces stems from my personal identification with the poem.

The Starfish Poem

As I walked along the seashore
This young boy greeted me.
He was tossing stranded starfish
Back to the deep blue sea.
I said, "Tell me why you bother,
Why you waste your time this way.
There's a million stranded starfish
Does it matter, anyway?"

And he said, "It matters to this one.
It deserves a chance to grow.
It matters to this one.
I can't save them all I know.
But it matters to this one,
I'll return it to the sea.
It matters to this one,
And it matters to me."
